IFS PACsecure Training session to be held Mar. 6 in Vancouver as standard being submitted for GFSI benchmarking in January 2013
The Packaging Association is holding a one-day training session in Vancouver on Mar. 6 for its new IFS PACsecure food safety standard for individual packaging materials that is being submitted in January to the Paris -based Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) for global recognition.
A number of packaging organizations – including Atlantic Packaging, Haremar Plastics Manufacturing and two plants from Jones Packaging in Ontario have already been audited to the new IFS PACsecure food safety standard for individual packaging materials. These firms along others from across Canada are being submitted to the GFSI as part of the benchmarking process.
The Vancouver training session covers good manufacturing practices and detailed implementation steps for the HACCP food safety program. The training process also includes problem solving for various types of issues.
