The sustainability of a package today is no longer an afterthought. Packagers and stewards are giving more attention to the recyclability of a package at the end of its use. This is complemented by the evolution of extended producer responsibility schemes and the notion that sustainable development requires the proper management of a product for the full life cycle. From an individual perspective, The Life of a Package in a Sustainable Recycling World, takes a look at the life cycle of a package: from basic function, to marketing, and then through to end of life and finally rebirth.
