The Nestle Sterling Road plant has been in operation since 1893, previously run by the Cowan Cocoa and Chocolate Company, which was later purchased by Rowntree. In 1988, Nestle purchased the Rowntree Company, and with it the Sterling Road factory which produces more than 18,000 tons of chocolate annually, supplying the Canadian market with Smarties, Coffee Crisp, Aero and Canada’s #1 chocolate bar, Kit Kat.

Sterling Road is a peanut free facility using cold-seal flow wrap, cartons and corrugated cases to package it’s confectionery products.
