Alexis Scoon
Sustainability Manager, Ocean Wise
Alexis Scoon is charged with greening the Aquarium’s operations, leading the organizations ISO14001 Environmental Management System, embedding a culture of sustainability, and driving change that supports a greener world. Prior to joining Ocean Wise, Alexis worked as an Environmental Auditor for SCS Global Services in California and as a Sustainability Manager for Keilhauer a commercial seating manufacturer in Toronto. Alexis holds a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University and is a Clean 50 Emerging Leader Award Winner for outstanding contributions to clean capitalism in Canada.

Andrew Marr
Director, Solid Waste Planning, Metro Vancouver

Andrew Marr was trained as a chemical engineer at the University of BC, and spent 7 years in the private sector (in research & development for rechargeable batteries, and in hazardous waste management) before joining Metro Vancouver. Most of his 26 years with Metro Vancouver has been working in the Solid Waste Services department, especially in the area of waste reduction and recycling, with a few years working in water conservation, liquid waste, and environmental management. Since 2004 he has also taught Waste Reduction and Recycling Technology at the BC Institute of Technology.

Gary Calicdan
Ethical Buying Team, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics

Gary Calicdan is the Packaging and Print Buyer of Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics. Joining the company in February 2007, he has seen the business grow from 80 shops to over 250 shops in North America. Along with growing the supply chain, Gary has led many initiatives to improve our ethics and sustainability in our packaging supply chain such as use of 100% recycled materials for gift wraps and printed paper, shopping bags, corrugated boxes, plastic bottles and jars and biodegradable gift fillers. Gary has also focused on developing a local high quality recycled plastic material supply base including ocean bound plastics and creating closed loop systems through retail and manufacturing operations wherever possible.

Eadaoin Quinn
Communications & Outreach Manager, Urban Polymers Group

Eadaoin Quinn is a communications professional and environmental educator focused on promoting waste reduction. Prior to joining Canada Fibers in early 2017, she worked at Sims Municipal Recycling for five years, where she led their education and outreach efforts. She oversaw the design, research and production of their mobile recycling unit, the Recyclarium, and their Recycling Education Center in Brooklyn, NYC. She holds a Bachelor’s in biology from McGill University and a Master’s in forestry from University of Toronto.”
