PAC Student Chapter

Student Committee Mandate

To provide opportunities for constructive engagement between students and the packaging industry.

Student Committee Objectives

  • Encourage students from a diverse range of educational fields to choose packaging as a career path;
  • Connect students to learning and career opportunities through exposure to and collaboration with industry practitioners; and,
  • Foster deeper engagement with the next generation of PAC members – better positioning the association to anticipate and adapt to evolving member needs.

2011 - 2012 PAC Sustainable Packaging Student Design Competition

PAC has been challenging students for years with their biennial packaging design competition. In keeping with the global movement toward sustainability we have added the sustainable packaging design category. We are fortunate to have two of Canada’s most prestigious organizations as sponsors of the event, Walmart Canada and Procter & Gamble.

PAC , Walmart Canada and Procter & Gamble are challenging students to create a sustainable package design for Duracell C4 batteries. Open to Ontario schools only

"The PAC Educational Programs within the School of Communications Arts at Seneca@York has generated a level of excitement I have not seen since I became involved with our packaging course. The students are eager to become members and realize through the PAC educational program our packaging industry is a frontier they will now consider even over print.

The PAC programs offer to our students a broad spectrum of membership and educational benefits from participating in a national student competition to the PAC Fair /conference where the students will mingle with prospective employers. In addition PAC is going full throttle with the sustainability issues and continually offers a host of seminars that engage our students.

All in all I am truly happy that Seneca became members and I am proud to sit on the PAC Student Committee."
